The OIL 5800 UV oil analyzer produced by Tianjin Energy Spectrum Technology is developed and produced according to the latest environmental protection standard of the People's Republic of China, "HJ970-2018 Determination of Water Quality and Petroleum by UV spectrophotometry". Adopting an excellent optical system and equipped with high-performance imported holographic gratings, the instrument has a high light flux and extremely low stray light. Multiple resolutions and scanning speeds are available for selection, allowing the instrument to handle different testing needs with ease. The high-precision data acquisition and processing system enables the instrument to have extremely high measurement accuracy and stability.

Application areas of OIL 5800 UV oil analyzer

Determination of oil: Petroleum: refers to substances that can be extracted by n-hexane without being adsorbed by magnesium silicate under pH ≤ 2 conditions, and have characteristic absorption at 225nm;

Animal oil: The main component is glycerides containing saturated fatty acids;

Vegetable oil: The main component is glycerides containing unsaturated fatty acids;

Animal and vegetable oils: Refers to some oils that can be extracted by n-hexane and adsorbed by magnesium silicate under pH ≤ 2 conditions;

Total oil: the sum of petroleum, animal and vegetable oils.

Testing principle of OIL 5800 UV oil analyzer

According to HJ970-2018 standard, under the condition of pH ≤ 2, the oil substances in the sample are extracted by n-hexane. The extraction solution is dehydrated by anhydrous sodium sulfate, and then adsorbed by magnesium silicate to remove polar substances such as animal and vegetable oils. The absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 225 nm, and the petroleum content and absorbance value comply with Lambert Beer's law.

Instrument features of OIL 5800 UV oil analyzer:

1. Use n-hexane to extract the sample, replacing infrared method carbon tetrachloride and extractant, to meet the new national standard for petroleum.

Under the condition of pH ≤ 2, the oil substances in the sample are extracted by n-hexane. The extract is dehydrated by anhydrous sodium sulfate and then adsorbed by magnesium silicate to remove polar substances such as animal and plant oils. The absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 225 nm, and the petroleum content and absorbance value comply with Lambert Beer's law.
